My Style? Crystyle!

Dot and Crystyle, Looking Fine

I received a notice this evening from Apatia Hammerer about a fundraiser at the Starlust Motel for Crystyle Bukowski, the brains and beauty behind Pudge. Now, since I know you love to shop, why not head over to the Starlust and check out the big board with one-of-a-kind and soon-to-be never-to-be seen again items? I picked up the Crystyle hair from Gritty Kitty and the vintage floral tops by Tres Blah (yay Tres Blah!) and you'll also find goodies from Toast Bard, Tilly Tokyo, and Apatia herself. The big board of style will be up until Saturday or so but don't delay: tp to the Starlust as soon as you possibly can and join the fun!

booN ORR tights in brown

This post is a grab bag: it includes a few things that I've wanted to post about for a while along with some goodies that I've picked up in the past few days. Faithful readers know that I am slightly obsessed with hair from booN. I'm not sure how many styles I have now, but honestly, booN makes such fabulous hair it is impossible not to want them all. I'm wearing the latest model, DOT742, which was released at the recent hair fair. I like to think it was named after me, because my raging ego feels better when I do. I'm also wearing booN's ORR tights, which come in a pack of five colors for 150L. The stripes make them a great match for solid color dresses, and the wooly felted texture puts me in a fall mood--I strongly recommend picking them up. In the top photo you see another of the Essential Sweater Dresses from CKS Designs, which pair up perfectly with the booN tights. In the middle pic you see the new hand tattoos from B390, and a big thank you to KiN Raymaker who I bumped into while shopping, and kindly passed me a set. I also have on two rings. No, I'm not married now, but the Kraftika ring would certainly make me consider a proposal except for the fact that I know it is free. Dot Lane is not marrying a cheapskate! Sugar mamas are encouraged to apply however, so just IM me for details. Finally, the hands over breasts pose if from Asymmetric Clover and is part of a 3 pose set for 5L. The poses are apparently designed for modesty while fully nude and for 5L it is hard to go wrong.

The Great Pumpkin

Wearing the New Halloween Dress from Strawberry Marshmallow

I am just starting to work my way through all of the nice things people have sent me over the past few months--I have held off taking pictures of jewelry and shoes since my old laptop always made them look awful and if you're a designer and put in all that effort, you certainly don't want me to show your hard work in anything but the best possible light. Now I know what you readers are saying. You're saying, "But Dot, if you want to show off their work in the best possible light, why don't you make yourself taller and lose the hips that make prim skirts cry?" La la la la la I am not listening to you readers!

Mayuki Nozaki, who must not sleep since she has two stores, a mall, and who knows what else going on, has sent me the Halloween dresses she has made for Strawberry Marshmallow. As with everything she does, the dresses are cut beautifully and flatter my shape. This feels so 1950s to me for some reason, and I totally dig it. I've posted a pic of the black one above, and the dress is also available in....wait for it....orange! Bet you didnt' see that coming, did you?

Be Very Very Quiet.....

I'm hunting moose. Alas, I'm too young to be Vice President. But really, could I do any worse than this?

The Bridge At Timaru Te Maru

I sat down on a bridge in Te Maru to look at the scenery.

I stood up, and promptly fell off the bridge.

To make up for me almost plunging to my death, under the water was a rock which I touched and I received a gift! How thoughtful!

Real Valley of the Chest

Asymmetric Clover attempts to solve a problem which has plagued SL since day one. I'm afraid that I am beyond help, being of modest endowment--I won't even show you what the demo looked like on me. "Real Valley of the Chest" totally sounds like a Russ Meyer movie though, doesn't it?

Wandering Around Iku Tursu

Oekaki on the sidewalk at u:ka

I tried peeing on a wall. I can now cross that off my list of things to do.

Avatar Blogger. All I saw were these two signs on the wall. I don't get it.

Okay. So I'm in a store today , and I see a girl with some cute boots on. I inspect them and find the creator. The creator has a blank profile, so I then do a search for the brand name. I find the brand in search, TP to the Heart Island Mall, but no boots. I realize I'm in a Japanese sim that I've never been to before, so off I went to explore. What I thought would be a five minute trip to buy boots turned into a two hour journey and I'm so glad I found Iku Tursu. There are numerous little shops and shopping districts scattered around Iku Tursu, most not bearing any relation to one another. My personal favorite was the little circus area, with a tightrope, trapeze, ring of fire, and other circus games. I took a few pictures, including the ones you see above. I'm wearing the new Essential sweater dress from CKS Designs, which I highly recommend to anyone looking for a flattering versatile dress. It's available in 21 (21!) colors. I've teamed it up with booN's new ORR tights, which come in a pack of five colors and have a beautiful wooly felted feel to them.

That About Sums It Up

Dot Lane's Apartment in Extropia

Wyeth was over last night and said, " I love this place, I feel like I am in the immediate future being ironic about the recent past." Sounds about right to me!

Fine. I'm Back. Happy Now?

Refuge's "Alex" Hair and Hat

I had no idea how much you all would miss me: I haven't posted in a few weeks and every day I get a message from someone asking me if I am ever going to blog again. Pffffft. Like anything could stop me! I will say that RL has been taking precedence with my new job getting busy and a few other RL things happening as well. Could I be more vague? Yes, I suppose I could. In any case, I'm back now and will try to keep you updated about my fabulous life more often. What have I been doing with myself in SL? Well, Kit Maitland and I have our football blog which I have written about previously. I have a dear friend who is leaving SL, so I have been talking a lot with her. I won a contest sponsored by Fleur which is kind of cool (and big thank you to Fleur for the prize and to guest judge Grazia Horwitz from Grapevine Shape and Poses for the awesome poses prize as well!). I've also been hanging at Glam's club Fat Fannies, which has one of the best groups of regulars of any place in SL. Oh, I also have a ton of new clothes. That's a shocker, I'm sure.

I didn't make it to the hair fair except to see the new booN hair, so I suppose I should just give up my pretensions of being a true SL fashion icon. If I had gone though, I would have bought the hair and hat you see above, Refuge's "Alex" model. Why? Because I love the texture and that I can change the colors and buttons on the hat. While the band badges one can choose from are a bit dodgy (NIN? Linkin Park? Rob Zombie?) the Sex Pistols and Ramones are included for those getting back to the roots. You can also choose to display treats like ice cream, cupcakes, hard candy, or any number of other icons. It's fun and it makes me happy and what more could there possibly be?

Kit and Dot Talk Football

Kit Maitland and I have started our football blog, Backfields in Motion. Now I know what you're saying. You're saying, "But Dot, I don't give a rat's ass about football, especially the American kind which involves very little foot actually touching ball. Why should I read your football blog?" Well, the simple answer is the power of Dot Lane compels you to read it. Did I mention that there are cute pics of the two of us? So now the power of cute *and* the power of Dot Lane compels you. The last person not to follow the link to the blog broke the chain and when they rezzed in SL again they had shoes and hair up their ass. Do you really want to be that person? Now go!

Nerdi::Times Square Kiss

Nerd Mumfuzz, who makes all sorts of cool things which you can find at her store, asked me to help her make this pose, which amounted to me standing around being moved by unseen forces. But look at the results! I'm amazed at the work she did. I'm the one being kissed, which is as it should be.....click on the photo to see a larger version....
