I'm Number One! I'm Number One! Part 5

Another first place finish: a Google search for << luscious in a little black dress and stockings >> puts me at the top of the results. The only catch? I'm not wearing a little black dress and stockings in the post Google links to, rather it is some of my lovely and talented friends. Congratulations to you all!

I'm wearing:

Dress: Pixel Dolls "Little Black FlexiDress"
Tights: Punch Drunk "Skinned Knee"
Shoes: Minx "Sweet as Sin"
Collar: Cipher "Padlock Choker"
Hair: Gurl6 "City Girl" in elektra
Skin: Tete a Pied Vivant Blush Pin-Up 1
Tattoo: Ink Stain "Multi Star Tattoo"

Do You Recognize This Dot?

Creamy at SL FreeStyle took a personality test so I thought I would try it as well. Does this sound like me?

You Are An ENFJ

The Giver

You strive to maintain harmony in relationships, and usually succeed.

Articulate and enthusiastic, you are good at making personal connections.

Sometimes you idealize relationships too much - and end up being let down.

You find the most energy and comfort in social situations ... where you shine.

In love, you are very protective and supporting.

However, you do need to "feel special" - and it's quite easy for you to get jealous.

At work, you are a natural leader. You can help people discover their greatest potential.

You would make a good writer, human resources director, or psychologist.

How you see yourself: Trusting, idealistic, and expressive

When other people don't get you, they see you as: Bossy, inappropriate, and loud

It is time once again to do a large post showing some of the free or low-cost items I've found over the past few weeks which don't fit into any particular theme. If you have questions about anything I have on, feel free to IM me. I've also taken the opportunity to show some of my favorite skins and hair from a variety of creators. I should also note that the accessories you see me wearing are usually the padlock choker from Cipher, key earrings from M-C-H, the Eat Rice Charm Collar II, and Mobius' "Betty" glasses. As always, click the photos to make the pictures larger so you can really see what I'm wearing.

gray cutsawskirt set

Skin: Soda Jezebel Pale Iconic Freckled
Hair: Calla "Imsopreddy v2"

honey*soul is currently giving out the freebies which you see above. While I'm not crazy about the cutsawskirt outfit as an ensemble, each piece will find some use, especially the pleated grey skirt. In the bottom photo I've switched out the dot top for a sweater from the honey*soul sweater set, with much better results.

Skin: Another (Le) freckles humility
Hair: Bossa Nova "Jenny" in wine

Mi Natural Casual Style has two gift boxes: a white mesh belt with a gold or silver buckle and a checked shorts/white set. I know I shouldn't be wearing the belt with these shorts but at this point I'm too damn lazy to take separate pics for everything--I mean, doesn't this pic just scream "lethargic"?

Skin: Tete a Pied Vivant Blush Paon 4
Hair: ETD "Maaliyah" in black

I found this men's suit at Brasil Voice but thought it might look good on a woman as well. Since the suit was free, I was willing to take a chance and I'm glad I did. I look so competent and ready for the work day! Now if I only had a job in SL.....

Raskn border leg warmers, 1L. While cute, I worry about my ankles getting cold.
Shoes: Shiny Thing's "Lollies".

radio noise has an outfit inexplicably called "panky checker". I understand that checker is plaid, but panky? I guess the "hanky" was left off because the pants and bag were only 30L. I really bought the outfit for the bag. I'm not sure if the logo on the bag means that I kill rabbits or am just part of a rabbit gang with a nasty attitude. The tank is by Hanauta, and was 40L.

Azul "Gold Holter"

Azul "Flower Tank White"

Azul "White Silk Tube Tank"

Azul "Belted Tank"

Azul "LaceB Tank"
Skin: Tete a Pied Vivant Blush Pin-Up
Pin-Up Hair: ETD "Maaliyah"

Azul is giving away the five tank tops you see above.
I'm partial to the gold halter and the white silk tube.

free Japon t-shirt (not shown) and tank (worn)
Hair: ETD "Maaliyah" in raspberry
Skin: Candy Flanagan's "Frecklexplosion Girl Summer" from the Another Skin fundraiser

I wrote about E. Watkins previously, but they also have a few freebies available. While E. Watkins might call this a "Japon tank", I really know that the dot is in honor of me. You'll notice that the dot is round like the sun which means that the universe revolves around me, so everyone should run out and get this to pay proper tribute to me! And aren't these freckles glorious? I order my loyal subjects to get thee to the Another Skin fundraiser!

OT Shop Tokyo "Superstar"

The skirt is a freebie. If you want one, just IM me.

That's All For Now! See Ya!

sos-nebula has some really cool poses for 5L, including the bye bye pose above. While my arm moves like a windshield wiper when I use it, I appreciate being able to wave to my friends.

Tank Top: Hanauta.
Skin: Tete a Pied Vivant Blush Pin-Up 3
Capri Pants: Tres Blah

Special thanks to Kit for letting me live in her Photosphere while taking these pics. If you haven't shopped at CKS Designs, you're missing some of my favorite clothes in SL!

A Clockwork Orange On The Dot

I came across E. Watkins, an equestrian shop, during my Japanese mall trek. They sell wonderful and highly detailed equestrian wear, including cavalry officer uniforms, the classic red riding coat perfect for a fox hunt, and all manner of other things for the country squire or competitive rider--I bought a Barbour style quilted vest which I have been trying to find in SL for months. What immediately caught my eye though were the hats in three styles (cap, bowler, and dressage) which have hair included for an optimal fit. You can buy either a ponytail or a bun in several colors, and what you see on me is a the bowler with burgundy hair. While the hair is intended for equestrian outfits, the bowler hat made me think of A Clockwork Orange.

I puzzled over how to release my inner Droog but decided on the Novembre outfit from Tête à Pied (thanks Ros!), a tuxedo with beautifully sculpted flared legs, and Gorgeous Yongho's "Messed Up Beauty Queen" skin which can be found free at her shop (just click the link to her blog for the slurl). "Messed Up Beauty Queen" is based on one of the Another Shop skins released for modification by Eloh Eliot and I will be writing more soon about Another Fundraiser, in which designers from all over SL take the Another Shop skin and let their imaginations run wild. The poses I'm using for the pics are also from E. Watkins, as part of a free AO available in the store.

Baring It All, 1890s Style

Working On My Moves

Betty Doyle at Ingenue has released a little gift for everyone just in time for Valentine's Day. The "Be Mine" outfit in romance red is sure to light a little fire in everyone who loves vintage lingerie. When I came across this peep show booth I just had to start dancing. While the setting might seem like a whorehouse from the 1890s, this lingerie seemed like the perfect thing to wear--not too revealing, but plenty sexy. Thanks Betty!

Please note that the shadows you see on my legs are not a disfiguring skin condition, but some very sheer black lace hanging over the entrance to the peep show booth!

A Girl Can Dream

You mean you haven't dreamed about sitting in a martini glass
of milk with an Oreo cookie in it while staring at the ocean? You lie!

Cracking the Fashion Code

Cipher ++Padlock++ Choker

Cipher Knee Sox in Pink

Cipher Knee Sox in Pink Showing Badge Detail

Cipher Leather Single Anklet

Cipher Knit Muffler Rusty Nail

Cipher Knit Muffler Stripe

Cipher sells punk inspired skirts, jewelry, and boots, including their line of SPLMMS. What's a SPLMMS? It's a ShortPants-Less Micro Mini Skirt, of course, and you're warned on the vendor to "Please Wear Panties". Those of you in the habit of taking upskirt photos of panty-less girls will be very disappointed by this warning (and you know who you are!) I will be taking a picture of me in my SPLMMS just as soon as I can get the adjustments right. Speaking of adjustments, I had three friends complain yesterday about the problem of fitting skirts over their hips and asses. I don't think this is a result of an SL obesity epidemic, but more the result of girls wishing to look, you know, like women, with glorious curves. I've never quite understood the aesthetic of looking like Pamela Anderson above the waist and a teenage boy below, but I suppose this goes hand in hand with no panties under miniskirts. Still, I'm tired of having to make a new shape every time I buy a dress or skirt--could we at least have two skirt versions in an outfit? How about one for an ass set at "0" and one for an ass set at "30" or "40"? Is that too much to ask for?

Dot Lane takes a deep breath.

Vidal mentioned to me yesterday how what I was wearing made me look ten years younger (I was wearing an outfit I will blog about soon, I promise) and I told her about my early days in SL when people thought I was both under 18 and pregnant. There's a winning combination for certain fetishists! I pulled out the skin I wore for months (the Sin Skins Freckled Fresh Stratus) to show her my look from the early days and I was shocked at the difference. I've grown so used to wearing lipstick and heavier make-up that the return to the classic Dot was a little jarring. I continued to wear the skin yesterday to see what would happen. I met Helena for coffee at the Selby Waffle Cabin and she noticed the difference right away as well, so I decided to take today's pictures wearing it. I have updated my hair: the red hair is "Missy" by Truth in auburn, the black hair is ETD's "Maaliyah" in black bronzed, but the glasses are also classic Dot.

So now that I've bitched to you about skirts and talked about people you don't know, I suppose I should tell you about what I'm wearing in the pictures. As I mentioned, Cipher is truly generous with the free accessories, including the padlock choker, which is going to give my Eat Rice collar a run for its money. I love the detail work on the collar and the padlock makes me feel so 1977, which I missed by several years. You can also pick up the scarves I'm wearing in four versions and the knee sox in five versions, which can be worn with or without the badges. I don't think the leather anklet is still available, but you might check the other Cipher locations apart from the main store. If you're a ponygirl, you may wish to look at Cipher's boots which are shod with horseshoes. I've not seen anything in SL like them, which I suppose is the highest praise one can offer.

p.s. The t-shirt is from Hanauta and the skirt is a full permissions freebie. If you want a copy of the skirt, just let me know! It's a mainstay of my wardrobe. The shoes are "Lollies" from Shiny Things and are, sadly, not free.

I'm Number One! I'm Number One! Part 4 (With An Asterisk)

A Hippo And Friends At The Bermuda Playground In Selby

Google serves up more ranking love to me! Today I'm crowing about a second place finish. Now, I know what you're saying. You're saying, "But Dot, we don't want to hear about your second place finishes. We expect more out of you. We expect you to work to your potential!" What--you've suddenly become my tenth grade English teacher?

In any case, you may remember my Halloween post if you've spent some time digging around in my archives. (As a side note, I have been posting to this blog since August so there are a lot posts you're going to miss if you just read the first page, including naked pictures of me). The Halloween post included a picture of me and Tuber riding the "sex hippo", which is simply a child's playground toy. When a second person hops onto the hippo though, it looks, well, like an outtake from the Kama Sutra. This perversion is courtesy of Kit who added some pose balls to the unwitting hippo, thus ruining the childhood innocence of the place. Then again, I've heard about people having sex with baby unicorns in SL or some other damn thing so in reality, the sex hippo is pretty tame. It is also highly amusing so I forgive her.

So, what does this have to do with anything that might actually interest you? Well, I'm now ranked second on Google when someone searches for << girl and hippo sex >>. Okay, I'll say it: "Girl and hippo sex? What the hell is the matter with you people?"

Dot Lane Says: "What the hell is the matter with you people?"

I will add that this search came from Google Canada. I've not noticed any hippos in Canada so I don't think the searcher was looking for information providing practical how-to advice (girl and moose sex might work in Canada) but my mind fails to come up with a reason why someone might actually want to see pictures of the act. Wait--aren't hippos really fat? Hey! This isn't some sort of cosmic insult about my weight is it?

So now, something you really do care about:

Hair: ETD "Maaliyah" in Black Bronzed
Shirt: DP YumYum "Frilly Blouse"
Skin: Another Shop "Le" freckled, greed
Skirt: DP YumYum "Humming of Saturday"
Shoes: Shiny Things "Lollies"
Collar: Eat Rice "Charm Collar II"
Glasses: Mobius "Betty"
Earrings: M-C-H "Key Motif Studs"
Eyes: MM Skins "MM Blue Eyes"

More Google ranking fun:

I'm Number One! I'm Number One! Part 1
I'm Number One! I'm Number One! Part 2
I'm Number One! I'm Number One! Part 3

* So I'm really number two, but that doesn't really fit into the the series title. Also, there aren't any naked pictures of me on my blog. But you were going to go look weren't you?

Close Up, With Attitude
